Default Jolting and Rumbling

Today when I was driving, I stopped at a light, and was sitting there for 1 minute and its never happened before but my truck start jolting as if someone was jumping on the front bumper, then the engine shut down and the battery was still on, so i turned the truck off completely and started her back up again, and it drove fine, and didnt do that again, Im new to driving trucks, I was just curious if that happens every now and again or if its a problem?
I have a rebuilt engine and everything including transmission, tires, and axles have all been fixed and reaired so i dont know what the problem could be. Anyone have any suggestions?

I would have to say thats probably a problem, though if its never happened before or had any problems leading up to this then thats just completely random, though if your new to driving trucks it seems that you have gotten a good amount of upgrades for it because i would drive mine around quite a bit if i were used to driving cars but ive only driven a 93 Plymouth miny van(Now sold),an 03 Jeep Liberty, and since i got my licence now i drive my 87 Dodge Dakota

I don't think that is a truck thing. It sounds like a problem, but from what you described I can't tell exactly what you could be trying to describe. Was this while you started accelrating?

look into the TPS (throttle position sensor). when the TPS goes, the computer doesnt know where the throttle is, so it guesses and you get jumping and jolting and high idle and sometimes the truck will try to stall when you initially hit the gas

Now that you say that I know thats what it is. When I was shifting the frame i hit the engine oil switch, when i go over a bump the engine oil light flashed and the check engine, and it might of just hit it and the truck didnt know what to do. Im pretty sure thats what it is.

Thanks so much for the replys!

I really don't understand a word of what you just said! What do you mean shifting the frame? What engine oil switch are you referring to (I've never heard of an engine oil switch)?

engine oil pressure switch, maybe could also
be called throttle piston sensor.

There is a throttle position sensor that is bolted to the throttle body that reads how far the butterfly valves are open. There is also an oil pressure sending unit that is screwed in toward the back of the engine that reads the oil pressure for the gauge, but unless your pressure gauge is not working or you see it leaking oil back there, there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. I've never heard of an oil pressure switch. I still don't understand what you mean by "shifting the frame." Any information you can give us one what work you've done to your truck that could be causing this would be very helpful... just remember we only know what you tell us.
