That post said that if you have a limited slip differential and go with synthetic fluid that doesn't require friction fluid, its still ok to add it. You should not add friction fluid to an open differential.

So, what about the synthetic 80W-90 fluids that are also LSD friendly. This would mean that these shouldn't be used in an open differential?
