So i want your guys thoughts on this i hink i found the problem. The other day it wouldnt start for awhile and my drive way is inclined so i put it in neutral and let it roll and it started. But today it wouldnt again and i tried that, then while in park i returned the key in the off position let of the brake and turn the key back a quarter turn then hit brake and it turns over so i think its the ingnition switch??

Thanks

I actually don't know what kind of thread lock it was, except that it was red. But the thing about helicoils is that you can't back them back out to put threadlock on them. But if you're just trying to put thread lock on the bolts, it should hold it all together. I would assume any threadlock will work, maybe a high temp if that's even an option??

I really still think its the park/neutral saftey switch. It dosen't cost much and it's easier to change than the ignition switch, so you should start there. It probably has to be one of the two, but if it were me, I'd start by putting in a new park/neutral switch and go from there. Just my $0.02, take it or leave it.

As 95_318SLT said, you can start in park or neutral. When I initially replaced my transmission, I had to put the lever in Neutral or shove it up into Park, but now it works fine.

But, from what your saying, its looking like the ignition switch.

AHHH there is no figuring out what is wrong with this thing. So w/ the idea it was my ignition swith i removed that and sure enough 1 or the copper connections was curroded* so i cleaned that up and put it back together and it stated up no problem al day yesterday and this morning when i went somewhere. When i was leaving it would not start again???? So i put it in and out of park nothing... Then i put it in neutral and it started over... Ok. Then at home i went to move it in the garage and again nothing so while in park and in the forward position i wiggled the key and tryed starting at the same time and she started.. ureka?? So is that the park/neutral safty switch??

Thanks

Yes it sounds like it's the park neutral safety switch. Cheep and easy.
