Hold on a sec man, If yours is an automatic then we both could have the same problems because sometimes my truck wont start when i crank the key, all the lights on the dash come on like there supposed to but the starter dosnt crank the engine and i was told its a dirty connection in the gear selecter because if i move it around in the park position and turn the key the starter cranks over and fires it up

I will have to try that next time it does not start and we may have the same prob, i did go under it and smack to starter a few times and it started and i went to the mall and its been starting since? i also tightened the starter wires down a bit. And one time like i said i just wiggled the ignition and it started then so it might just b that.

Yeah, I agree with this. Replace the park/neutral safety switch, its very easy. Back when my truck was an automatic it would do this every so often. I usually pulled it out of park and put it back into park (or neutral) and it would crank right up. I solved this problem by putting a manual in my truck :P

See i had this problem on my 96 trooper the park/neutral switch was going out and i couldnt remove my key. But i dont belive that is the case here as i learned from my trooper and the first thing i tried was placing it in and out of park and wigling the park lever, i think its the ignition key based on when i wiggled that and t started?
