And for the last installment... finally got the big part done...

Completely shaved tailgate, tinted taillights, black rims (that in real life would get orange metallic flake in the paint), rhino-line (or an offbrand) the lower part of the body (represented by black in this picture), and a spin-off of the old school Barracuda stripe.

(Just pretend it has the fender flares on it :P)

awe i wanted to do AAR stripes! and actually i think i kind of prefer the T/A stripes over the AAR (or at least on the paint I wanted for my truck).

yours on the other hand looks great with that... If you could actually pull off that particular color orange, I think it'd look great regardless of it being a dak (especially with those stripes) It almost looks anodized.

I wouldn't even worry about shaving the tailgate. You could get the rims powder coated if you have another set to put on while you wait. Would you go glossy on the rims or matte? I thnk you have the option when you powder coat.

If you also powder coated the bumpers and chrome mirrors to match the rims....

Looks good though, that is what you should go with.

By the way, where did you learn photoshop? I Have a version of CS3 here on my computer that I would like to start using more.

Missed the part about painting the rims, woops. I would powder coat, but that is just me.

With a paint job like that you might need to get some mud flaps to protect it.

I don't like mud flaps, thats why I got those wide fender flares! I might go with powdercoated, it depends on how much it cost! I was actually thinking I'd leave the bumpers stainless, but make the mirrors and grill black.

I taught myself photoshop! Still learning stuff about it. That is a very powerful program!

Shop around a little. With the economy as bad as it is I have seen some shops doing powdercoating for a pretty good price. It varies dramatically from shop to shop. One might want $400 for a job, and another $150.

Or if you have a friend you know that owns a shop just pay for paint and do you own prep work. And a 6pk and your set. Thats what I did for my rims. The paint coated $30 and a 6pk and I had powder coated black rims. I guess I didn't do a good enough prep work and now it is chipping. It was around 6yrs ago so it held up okay.

i would get a rollpan for the back, and have it rhino(off-brand) lined like the bottom portion of the truck itself. and along with front bumper. or matte black to match the rest

Well I have a design worked out for a new front and rear bumper that will be made out of 1/4" steel and painted black... I just need to find the time to start building them! A rollpan wouldn't work for me anyway cause I have a trailer hitch I won't part with.
