Default What do you guys got for performance?

Im just lookin around for performance parts and i think i found a pretty sweet combo. A Gibson Cat. Back exhaust, a Jet Stage 1 chip, and an Edelbrock air cleaner.

Does anybody have something close to this? Or any of those parts? How did you like it?

Im lookin for some mroe bottom end torque and the exhaust and chip are supposed to do that.

All suggestions welcome!

The jet chip is junk. Don't waste your money! The exhaust stuff and air cleaner will be good. But don't expect much out of it! Maybe 5hp total. Get a Mopar high performance computer. Upgrade the Ignition system. High performance coil, wires, autolights 3923 spark plugs, quality cap and rotor. For more performance parts check out the FAQ2 in this section.

+1 to everything Crazy said. Also, if its in your budget, get the Harland Sharp 1.7 roller rockers.

i dont really want to crack the motor unless i absolutely have to. But those are just under the valve covers right? Not hard to put in?

They are simple to put in! I'm going to get some soon that I'll transfer to the 408 when it comes that time. Remove the valve covers and take out the bolts holding the factory rockers in. Then, just simply bolt the new rockers on to the specified torque and put in a new valve cover gasket and bolt the valve covers back on. Hour job at most!

Oh crap dude! I gave you terrible advice earlier. I didn't realize you had the 3.9L, I was thinking the 318 for some reason... you cannot use a 5.9L computer in that!!!! I edited my above post to take that out, but I want to make sure to say it anyway.

Edited for correctness.
(3.9 REPRESENT!)

[I actually have nothing to add to this discussion, because my power boost idea for the 3.9 is to add 2-cylinders, and some extra displacement]

I also really think you'd be time and money ahead with a V8 swap..

Lol, yeah, forget everything I've said before for performance parts and do what everybody else is saying... get a 318 or 360 to drop in there!
