I'm guessing 4wd! You didn't say. It depends on what you want to spend, and how much work you want to do. We have all the lift options located in the FAQ2 in this section.

4wd
Body kit 2in.

Custom 6in body kit. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-...y-tires-d.html

Full suspension kit 4in. ($1,700)
http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/dodge_dak4WD.htm Here is a great site about installing the kit. http://www.walt-n-ingrid.com/modifications.html

http://home.earthlink.net/~btm0106/ (Site down, may be up at sometime)

Lift keys 2 inch. Lots listed on http://www.ebay.com/ 97-up may work!

Or you can just crank your torsion bars and add rear blocks for 1 inch or so.

You can tack weld some 1/4 inch steal strips to your keys. Here is a post on it. 1st-gen-dakota/175855-cheep-lift-post1417241.html#post1417241

You can get blocks just about any parts stores. Sizes are available from 1 inch - 6 inches.

You can get Shorter rear spring shackles.

Or flip your shackle hangers. Check out https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-...ut-blocks.html https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen-...le-hanger.html

If you got a V6 you can get V8 torsion bars to give you an extra inch or so.

Add a leaf too.

You can get air shocks too. These are not air bags. So you don't need an on-board compressor. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductD...50&PTSet=A

Universal air bags. https://airbagit.com/index.php?osCsi...beeed6ca3c2580

if you go for the 2 inch body lift get it from amazon.com. They had the best price and shipped for free.

dont buy a plastic lift kit, get a piece of 2x3x1x4 square(rectangle) tubing, cut it into 3 in pieces, drill some holes, buy longer bolts, case of beer, trim shroud. done
