Default Where to buy

If I narrow my charging problem down to the voltage regulator, where is the best place to buy a new PCM module ?

Is this replacement a good idea for the do it yourself person ? Im an electrician and have done a lot of repairs myself.

Check Engine light goes on and off, battery will not charge completely, volt meter is working and indicates charging.

Year and engine?

The pcm takes about 5 min to change. Just disconnect the battery, unbolt the 60 pin connector, unbolt the computer, bolt in the new computer and bolt in the connector.

Looks like Napaonline.com has them, otherwise your other choices are dealer or salvage yard. Advance Auto appears to only carry the performance ignition modules.

Default Thanks

Thanks for your help. This baby has over 200K miles

I just double checked the trouble codes. I have 2.

41- generator field not switching properly. I will replace ASD switch. Is this a good indicator of an alternator problem also ?

32- Probably need new EGR valve

Ya most likly just replace the alt. And replace EGR. But check all hoses and wires first.
