stroking

Default stroking

hi all i have a 93 dakota with a 5.2, it is getting old and weak ,i was thinking about going with a stroker kit from hughs. has anyone done this ? are there a lot of changes i need to make to the top end? and will my computer work with this set up ? thanks .

You don't have to change the top end, but if you want to make it worth your money, you should get a mild cam and roller rockers. Maybe even bigger injectors. Cam, head and valvetrain mods are where the real power is producd.

Also, you should look into getting a mopar performance computer for the new set up. The stock computer should run the engine, but you'll notice a bigger gain with the performance computer.

Also, if your going to go that far, you should think about headers, high flow air filter, and a bigger bore throttle body.

i was worried about the stock stuff choking it down, i may do some work to my heads and up grade my intake, i know this project will snow ball. i am mostly worried about the computor so i can keep my od tranny and my mpi. i realy don't care about hp this is to make my baby a towing beast.
