coolant temps with electric fans
put a cooling fan from 08 buick enclave (free gm warrenty parts)
(they fit the radiatior completely two 16 fans)
two adjustable switchs that turn on 190
today it was 78degs
my coolant temp avg was 210 sitting in the drive way,
with a/c on it was 220-225
it ran normal with the belt driven fan
so what is everyones temps with there electric fans ?

I have a single 16 inch fan and mine runs 180 degrees (180 deg thermostat) with the a/c on or off and moving. It runs about 185 with the a/c off sitting still. It runs about 190-195 with the a/c on and sitting still. These are all estimates though cause the gauge has no numbers on it.
Also, if I'm not doing "city" driving, so I don't have to stop much, I never turn it on (the switch is on my dash) and it runs about 180.

ya the gauge is a guessitmate
so i hook my scan tool up to read ect data
c (````` ) h
.........| is actually 225 (ect)on my truck,
where before
c (````` ) h
.....| is where it ran before (thats 190 on scan tool)
im afraid if i work it in traffic, ac/ stop go , it just makes me nervous
im might just put the old fan on and retest it
oh, u know i dont recall they were on a 00 durango rt
that was going for cash for lunkers at work
i thought id give them a good home , i have to get back to ya
thanks !!!

If I recall there are two different types of fans, push and pull. Please someone correct me if I am wrong but, it sounds like to me that you either have the fans installed backwards (not likely) or, it's blowing in the wrong direction.
Does that sound feasible?

Yes it is possible that it is incorrectly mounted. On the universals, they are reversible. But I don't know about stock style. But most stock styles are set up as pullers. And I'm assuming that is how it is mounted up. You may have the polarity on the fan incorrect.
ya brushless motors cant be reversed ,
air its moving front to rear (pulling )
its nice and warm today,
going to put the stocker back on ,

ok i took off the fan and noted
the fans were actually divided into 2 by a plastic lip

so i cut that lip off
and reinstalled for one more try

the clutch fan seems so close to lower rad hose with the body lift
im hoping this will work
i ran it a little it seems better ,
ill give them more a workout tomarrow
