ok.. Im having a issue, my donor truck is a 92, the truck this motor is going in is a 95. The person switching it over says the 92 has cable for the spedometer, and the 95 is electronic so I wont be able to have my spedometer working... anyone know what I can do to solve this problem.. good detail would be great!

You should be able to switch out the unit in the transfer case. Its a 10 second job.

No its on the transfer case trust me. Its on the drivers side half of the extension cone. About half way up. The ones on the 93s are part mechanical part electrical. Im pretty sure the earlier ones were just mechanical. Either way, its all the same.

I dont have that stuff on my truck anymore, or Id go take a pic. The only 231 I have is destroyed and half trashed, or on its way to 318.

This is not a good picture, but it will work.

See the big black and white thing sticking out of the side of the extension cone? Thats the speed sensor. Yours is in the same place. Its held in by one bolt, and a wierd looking split armed bracket. You pull the bolt, the bracket falls off, and you pull lightly on the spensor and it comes out.

Skyshark is right... the speed sensor is in the transfer case. I know, I just took two of them apart! Just a thought, if the speed sensor is in the transmission, then its a 2wd transmission and you need to keep looking!!!! Unless the wires he pointed out were for the park/neutral safety switch.

There are only 2 plugs on a t case... speed sensor and 4x4 indicator light. There is no reason your t case won't work if it worked before.
