Good to know, I will leave no piece untouched in the prep.

I just saw a an 89 on craigs in my area for 1000, it's it much better shape than mine and I paid 800....

You never know what better shape really is. Ive seen some beautifully maintaned exteriors with CRAP under the hood. Or vice versa. Personally Id take good clean running gear over paint and body work any day. Well....maybe not since I had good running gear and I gutted it anyway. Hmm.....

Besides, if your happy with it in the end thats all that matters. If price were an object half of us wouldnt be driving pickups.

Yeah that's true, guess I just don't like the thought of getting burned but hey, I'll be happy when I'm done fixing it up.

Id say if you got a good running truck that is fixable to be great for under 1000 your doing fine.
