i took the front driveshaft off 5 years ago before the truck broke down cause i went thru like 8 transfercase housings cracking(in a year period) for some unknown reason so i started taking stuff off to try to figure it out what was causing it

 

It was probably because you had it in 4x4 on the street. Like my explanation above states, the driveline will bind up through a turn and put a lot of stress on the transfer case.
