Truck will not start- A common problem in the trucks, primarily ones made between 1993 Through 1995, was failure (corrosion) of the splice that feeds battery power to the automatic shutdown (ASD) and fuel pump relays. If these relays do not get battery power, your truck will not be able to start. This could also cause intermittent problems, or could possibly "kill" the truck when driving down the road. The splice is located underneath the Power Distribution Center (PDC), which is the black box located behind the battery. To Troubleshoot

thanks a bunch for the information. So another question....is this a splice in the truest sense of the word or is it a plug. For example, it is a red and black wire with a white plug? Is that where the corrosion would be?

Thanks again! I think I am narrowing it down thanks in very large part to your help.

A splice is when wires join together. The kind of splice we are talking about is several wires joined together with soldier. It is the kind of soldier they use that caused corrosion in these splices.

Good picture pashadowops! Its about time someone actually took a picture of these wires!!!!

The fix is very simple. There will be a huge group of wires that are coming out of the PDC (power distribution center). This is a black box next to the battery bolted to the drivers side fender in front of the windshield washer tank. Unwrap the tape around all these wires and look for the splice. It will look just like the above picture... 3 wires coming together. Pull the 3 wires apart, clean them really well with some kind of abrasive pad and re-solder them. Then wrap them up tight with electrical tape and/or shrink wrap.

Okay, this should be my last question. I was thinking that was the bunch of wires we are looking at. Am I correct in thinking that I need to take the PDC off of the fender well to get to the splice?

You may have to. I don't know cause I've never had to mess with that splice, but there are just 2 bolts and a clip holding that thing on, so its not hard at all to take off. Lol, it would have taken you less time to take it off and put it back on than the time it took you to get on your computer and ask :P
