Default need help

I have a 95 dakota 3.9 it missing bad like it is smothering to dead when push it to the floor.I replace plugs,wires , distributor cap,roto button ,fuel pump,coil ,computer, truck has 140,000 miles on it.

Check the timing and plug wire location.

+1. And if you still can't find it after that try replacing the crankshaft position sensor and/or camshaft position sensor and/or distributor pick up.

ok guys never work on a dodge can you tell me how to check the timing .i have another parts truck wanted to try whatever before i have to tear it down to put timing set in.

For the timing you want to put the #1 cylinder on Top Dead Center on it's compression stroke. Then look at the distributer and make sure the rotor is pointing directly at the #1 spark plug wire. If you need more info go to the service manual we have located in the FAQ in this section. Go to sect. 8D pg 22.

Then make sure the plug wires are in the correct spot. The Firing order is on sect. 8D pg 26.

well i did all the above and no luck so. i had one thing to do cut the converter off and that was where it was at. put a piece of pipe in it and runs like a new truck

no it was smothering to dead the exhaust was close off .you give it gas and it would shake like a miss

Ahhhh yes i didn't even think of that. A friend of mine had the same problem with his truck and we couldn't figure it out until we happened to look under the truck and saw the cats glowing orange hah
