Could be a fuse issue or a ground wire issue. No way of knowing for sure except to start testing wires and connections.

When my truck starts doing these same exact things, I know it's time to replace the headlight switch. Since I am revamping my interior, the plastic panel below the steering wheel is off so I can wrap the panel that holds the OD switch and the headlight ****. That usually rattles things back into place and everything works fine again. I know it sounds stupid and absurd but, it works. As soon as I put in my relays and replace the headlight switch, I shouldn't have that problem anymore. If by chance the gauge lights don't come back on you may have to remove the gauge panel and clean the contacts on the lighting circuit board and then put a little dielectric grease on it so it doesn't get oxidized again.

I know my truck had the same issues. I have replaced feet of rotten wire under the hood as well as the headlight switch.
