Default 1994 Dakota Cig Lighter Replace

Anyone ever attempted this? I haven't begun to look at it yet so thought I would just come here first.

For those that have been so kind in helping me with my IDC Valve and Water Pump replacement....I'm seriously not doing a Frame Off Restore on this killer....it just might seem that way!!

Thanks In Advance!

I would believe it should be easy. They sell universal ones at auto parts stores. Just take off the dash cover, the simulated wood one. Then you can access it from there.

Fairly straight forward, remove the dash cover as Crazy said, 2 screws hold the lighter in place, unscrew them. The lighter itself is 2 pieces and will unscrew, depending on your replacement you will more than likely have to replace the connector for the 12v+, ground is a normal spade connector.

usually it's the element in the plug itself that goes. had 2 go on mine. try replacing the lighter itself before you tear everything apart on the dash. if it still does not work then you can replace the socket in the dash. you can buy them separate instead of a single unit.

I had to replace my cigar lighter today since it burnt out so I took some pictures to show the wires and how simple it is to replace.
