Default ujoints

i need to replace my ujoints on my drive shaft,i was wonder if they are snap or press,any ideas or tips on doing it.i have a 1992 3.9 auto 2wheel drive

They are a pressed in fit. They have snap rings on the sides.

so any idea have to press them in at your house tools needed

Use a hammer and a socket. Or take it to most automotive machine shops. They usually charge 5-10 per U-Joint, to press it in/out.

+1! If you have a large bench vise you can use that too.

It's a be-atch of a job doing it yourself. Worth the price to take it to a driveshaft/driveline shop and have them do it...even if you have all the tools.

easy to do if done or you know what to do use tow hammers hamer n socket what ever you like grt close to the cap size remove clips and start baning n do both wile if out joints are cheep and will save you time in the long run

Or you can get a loaner U-joint service tool from Autozone or Advance.

can't remember how many times i replaced u-joints but it's pretty simple. the only problem i found was if one of the the roller bearings dropped in the cap. got to take everything apart again to set it back in place. just be careful and take your time and you should be ok.

yeah the needle roller bearings kept fallin in mine took me quite a while to do it with a hammer and socket heres a tip replace the carrier bearing while your under there.
