pully in place of exhaust pump

Default pully in place of exhaust pump

just woundering if anyone has replaced there exhaust pump for the cat pre heater with a straight pully. if so some details on the fab and pully set up would be great.

What else doesthat belt drive? Why don't you just take that belt off completely or get a shorter one if there is anything else it drives? Seems much simpler than making an idler pully.

For pre 91 all you have to do is remove the belt. But 91 is serpentine belt, so maybe try a belt for a NON AC engine. You could do the math and figure out how long of a belt you need with out it. Several pulley calculators on the net.

Ah yes, I forgot which year they switched... been too long since somone has asked a belt question :P

My 91 doesn't have a serpentine setup. Maybe he can just remove the belt.

no my 91 5.2L is serp driven.

oh and no a/c what fruit cake needs a/c open a window and free up some power.

Lol, the kind of fruit cake that has to deal with 100+ degrees every day during summer! I bet saskatchewan doesn't get quite that high on a regular basis! Not to mention the high humidity here in NC to go along with the 100+ degree temps.
