You said it did nothing. So did the starter at least turn? Tons of possiblities!
If the starter did turn it could be the power splice. They tend to corode. Check the FAQ in this section for a nice write up on it with pics.

That splice (the one you are refering to), supplies power to the ASD and Fuel pump relay, not the starter relay.
If the starter did NOT attempt to start, I would look at: battery terminals for tightness, swap the starter relay for a known-good one. Look at the electrical terminals on the starter and make sure they are tight.

If the starter did attempt to start, but the engine just didn't go self-contained, you are possibly looking at the electrical splice mentioned, a bad relay (fuel pump or ASD).
Just naming a few possibilities here.

Next time this happens, check for fuel, and spark.
You have a lack of one or the other, it seems.

Just by chance did you hit the shifter at any point? Mine has a thing about starting and I always have to make sure to hit the shifter to get it start.

Does this only happen after fueling up, or can/does this happen after trying to restart the truck after it's warmed up?
But the truck has no problem running or starting otherwise, correct?
