new to dodge...got some ?s
i have a 1990 dodge dakota 4x2 with a 3.9 v6. i know a bit about motors but not a thing about dodge motors. i noticed that the motor looked like it was carburated but it also looked like there was two injectors on top of the carb. is it fuel injected or carb? any other info would be appreciated about this motor, like i said i have no experience with dodge motors. thanks

your one of the most intelligent men i have chatted with crazy.
the only reason you hate carbs is because you have no experience with them. they are far less complicated than the systems you work with. granted in the old days there where very few guys that could tune a carb by ear, but i'm positive you could do it.
one of the few guys thats good with a computer and trucks.
don't be scared of them crazy.
i'll add that the 91 is throttle body injected. you have 2 injectors in the throttle body (not carbed), one for each bank of the v-6.
the only carbed 3.8 dak was the 87 and nothing was adjustable unless you wanted to drill out the mixture screws.

Thanks! But I do have experience them. On my 82 Trans Am, 77 Yamaha, my 1950 Desoto, my friends 82 Ramcharger my friends Yamaha dirt bike. My problem with them is when get just adjusted then it is off on cold starts, or when it gets hot or when you get up to high elevations.
Don't get me wrong, they can be reliable. And modern aftermarket units are great. My hatered for them is stock junk.
