Default 91' dak running bad

Hey guys, I've been working on my dakota on and off and it seems that it's running really rich. I mean after it sitting idling for a while you can smell the truck from like 15ft away. Also the sensor that controls the throttle always tries to keep the idle high for like 3-7 sec after giving it throttle. Any help appreciated. It is a pretty beat up truck but i've been working on it. Also it doesn't have a muffler if that helps. Old one looked peeled open like a banana so i took the sawzall to it.

Whats the plugs look like? They can tell a lot about what an engine is doing and not doing. You probably need to clean the IAC and intake. Your exhaust will smell bad if you take the CAT off.

Looks like they have been running hot. Not bad looking, could be worse. Just replace them.

They are new plugs. AZ93DKota said to take em off and look at them. I figured they look good though. I'll take the iac off and clean it when the weather clears up hopefully tom.

ALRIGHT, well i finally got the iac off and cleaned it out. The truck seems to run better with the idle coming down faster but still not as fast as it should. I think i'm going to replace the iac how much are they?
