Default EGR sensor?

I had a post on here last week about codes. I have a 96 Dakota 5.2 auto. Did all the tune up stuff and also replaced coil and pick-up coil. All this helped but I still have a small miss at low speed almost at idle. The Haynes Manual troubleshooting section suggests the EGR sensor. I`m not getting an error code that shows anything. My questions are will this sensor show up in check engine and Where is the sensor located? I can`t see anything that resembles the picture in the book and not enough detail to help me locate it.

The EGR is not a sensor. And if I remember right 96 doesn't have an EGR.

If it is a miss fire it will be a spark plug or the wires. Or a bad fuel injector or a wire problem.
If you can get the code read by a code reader, you can get the exact cylinder that is acting up. Then you can diagnose that cylinder system. You can get it done at more auto parts stores.

I have replaced the wires and plugs. The miss only shows up at a low speed and doesn`t do it all the time. The EGR not being on the 96 would explain why I can`t find it. The code I get from the switch is the 12 which is the power disrupt from unhooking the battery. I`ll try to get to the parts store for a readout tomorrow. It also will run fine if I kick it down and get to higher speed.
