has anyone done a bucket seat conversion in a dakota w/ s10 seats

why not just find a set of buckets from a dakota?

can't find any dakotas with bucket seats in them. i got a set from my junkyard for free,think they are cavy seats and are in good shape.

I tried the seats i have and they will fit with minor mods.

usually buckets from other cars will fit all you would have to do is make a bracket in most cases. i have early 90's civic buckets in my truck for a few months but they got stolen when someone broke in to steal a factory radio.

by way my dakota is a 1990 w/ a 318 from a 1970 2-ton flatbed. has 5-spd from original 4 banger. I am building like a drag/street truck have plexiglassed the back window,etc..

i don't think the transmission from a 4cyl engine will hold up to the torque of that motor
