Question New Here - Love my truck not my mirrors

Hi everyone

I'm new to the forum and have a 91 Dakota with 170km.I love my truck and she runs great.I just bought the canopy and we custom built the Boat rack.I have built a carpeted bed box in the back to sleep when on my Fly fishing adventures with room to store my Fly rods underneth

I really don't like my mirrors and want to know about changing them.

Here is what I have on now

Its very, very easy to change. All you need to do is find the mirrors. Those 6x9 chrome mirrors are factory equipment, so you can look at OE parts sites, junkyards, ebay, craigslist, etc. If your mirrors are currently powered, you need to look for powered mirrors, if not, you need to look for manual mirrors.

As far as changing them... should take less than an hour. Pop the door panel off and its just 3 nuts to take the mirror off.

Ya get rid of those toy truck mirrors. Put on the Big Boy mirrors.

95_318SLT did a post on how to tighten up 6x9's. The pics may help you.

I did that swap to my '93. My old ones were manual and the 6x9's I got are powered. I didn't bother wiring them up as I usually have to readjust them by hand when they get bumped in the parking lot.

Lol, thats why you tighten them down! My 6x9 mirrors used to fold in on themselves around 80 mph. I tightened them down as much as I dared to and it about takes a crowbar to move them now. I've bumped into them before without moving them.

You should take the time to hook up the electronics if you can! Then you only have to get them close by hand and can fine tune them electronically.

Yep, you can tighten them down...but leave a little play so the parking lot trolls can't rip them off your truck...they should have some give in them.
