Sounds to me like you may have crossed the plug wires. Check them one at a time to make sure they are in the correct order.

This is what I sent in reply to your PM, but I'll post it here too...

Sounds to me like an ignition problem. If you replaced the distributor... did you clock it correctly? The computer controls the ignition timing, but the base timing needs to be set right or the computer won't be able to compensate.

Check out the 1st Generation Dakota subforum and look in the faq thread (top of the page in the stickies) and there is a link to download the 1995 Dakota factory service manual. It has a detailed description of how to clock the distributor.
Here is the link to faq...

It could be the computer, but usually the computer just simply won't run the engine at all when it goes bad. The fact that it idles fine says the computer should be alright and there is a much simpler fix.

So besides saying you replaced every sensor, can you list them to see if you missed one?

o2
MAP (manifold absolute pressure)
TPS (throttle position sensor)
ECT (engine coolant temp)
IAT (intake air temp)
CrPS (crankshaft position sensor)
CaPS (camshaft position sensor)

Also, have you done a full tune up? Cap, rotor, plugs, wires, coil?

Have you checked fuel pressure to make sure it is up around 40 psi?
