Lol! Even a limited slip differential wouldn't have done you any good in that situation! I know first hand if you have a wheel off the ground even a limited slip diff will act like an open diff... unless you play around with the brakes just right, but thats hard to do in a manual!

You should not waste your money on a limited slip diff for a trail rig. Get a locker! Something like a powertrax no slip would be perfect for your truck. Plenty strong, and very easy to install. No worrying about setting up the gears for a lunchbox locker.

And if you want more ground clearance, you should crank up the torsion bars and do a shackle flip or put blocks in the back. Or take that really heavy bumper off the front! :P

But if you are already as high as the factory IFS will let you go, you should really look into doing a solid axle swap. My truck will have no shortage of ground clearance when I finish it!!

Couldn't agree more!

Auron I can't remember how much lift you got. But you can add in torsion bar indexed keys. These will give you a good 2in. Larger tires can give you a good inch. A body lift will help to get you the larger tires to fit.

Also are you sure it was just that rock. From the angle of the pic it looks like you may have high centered the frame.

i had about a half an inch clearance in the middle of the frame and the right side tires had less weight on them all my buddy had to do was push on the front by hand while i eased it in reverse to come unstuck the rock juts about 2 inches higher then the mound it was just enough to be a pain in the rear

edit:i have matching 30x9.5 on the back but on the front i have a 28x10.5 snow tire on the drivers side (one of the original tires i got it with) and a 29x9.5 that the dude i got it from replaced a snow tire with cause it wouldnt hold air i plan on 2 more 30x9.5 for the front with the next pay check if i can

just crank on the torsion keys, you can get sets for like $80 and a set of rear blocks for a quick fix till you wanna go extreme and do a solid axle.
