Default New Guy with a couple questions

Good Day all...I have just become the owner of a 92 Dakota LE Ext-cab, 5.2 V8 auto with 2wd. Truck was parked behind a guys house for 2 years, so for the nominal fee of nothing, all that was required was I got it out of there. So for that price I could not say no!
After replacing all the liquids and starting it to have a idler pulley go for a trip down the road at HIGH SPEED...after replacing all the replaceable pulleys, she is running nicely.
Now to the questions....
1 - the previous owner hit a deer a glancing blow, thus the bug deflector is busted and so is the grill. Where can I find a replacement /after market grill?
2 - Driver door bottom hinge is busted. Is this a re-weld or am I looking for a newer door? Any tricks or ideas on the repair?
3 - Fenders are rusted only on the edges, behind the OEM flare, the plan is to lift the body 1 or 2 inches and put replacement flares on to clear a 31 or 32 inch tire, for ripping down back roads to my fishing and camping areas. Don't need 4wd, just ground clearance. Looked at Bushwacker, nothing listed for the Dak..Does anyone here have any thoughts on what flares, similar to the Bushwackers cut-outs?

Now off to read about rear disc brakes..hate drums....

Thanks for any help...
Mike

Welcome to DodgeForum!

1 - I don't know off the top of my head, but there are links to parts sites in faq and faq2

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...e-manuals.html

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...-and-more.html

2 - If you have a welder, welding them is definately a good option. There is a write up on here about re-welding those.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...-pictures.html

3 - Bushwacker does make fender flares for our trucks. I have a set on mine! They are called "Bushwacker Extend-a-fender" flares.

There are some threads on here discussing drum to disc conversions, but keep in mind that you not only need the brake setup to put on the axle, but you will also need a new master cylinder (a disc-disc MC) and you will need to lose the factory combination valve and get an aftermarket proportioning valve.

Thanks for the info, have digested most of it already while getting the truck up and running.

Was hoping for a flare more like the cut outs, will have to take a closer look at the extendeds to see if they will do what I need.

Here is a question, was under the hood, there appears to be a black box between the washer bottle and the main power pack. I cannot seem to find it in the wiring diagrams, and it is un hooked in this truck. It has a, I think, 8 prong plug on it thats about a inch long. Any idea what it is? Might have to yank it out to see if there are any numbers on it.
Either that or hook it up and see what it do or don"t do.

Can you get a picture? I'm not familiar with anything from that factory that came between the power distribution center and the washer bottle. I used that spot to put another relay box (got another power distribution center off another truck and re-wired it) for my lights and electric radiator fan.

Ya a picture would be best. The only things I could think about would be the ABS or if someone installed an aftermarket alarm system.

And www.ebay.com will be the cheapest for the grill.

It has the numbers: 56004262 60043 on it.

Thanks

Well after a major search, I found the answer on a Canadian Dodge site.

Its the DRL module, when I hooked it up my headlights came on, so its faulty, thats why it was disconnected. It also explains why 95_318SLT, you dont have one. Its one of those funky Canadian features...Learn something new every day.

next question. Will a 265/70/15 tire fit on to a 92 Dak 2wd? They show as a 30 inch tire. Or am I looking at trying to lift this truck to get them to fit...or hack the wheel wells...still no luck on fenders.
