Well I found something interesting after truck decided to do same thing as before, run fine cold then once warm it starts miss firing and back firing. I noticed a spot on firewall that looks like a spot to ground something. If anyone with a factory 95 3.9L Dakota could check theirs and see what it could be for, color of wire, and or where it goes. I think I think I have a photo uploaded to show what I am talking about. It is right above distributor. Also I am thinking that my timing chain is stretched as nothing I have done has worked.
Ya what he said! But if you can't find the strap, just bolt up any good thick wire. It goes from that point to the back of the head. It can literally be any bolt that will solidly carry the ground.
would not be timing chain. did you change the cooland temp sensor if so did you get it at after market store like auto zone? would strongly adz getting sensors from the dealer.
Thanks for the pics and I ran out and run a ground strap to the block and truck cleared up some. I got a code 24 from truck and am hoping to replace TPS soon. When I put truck in gear it wants to take off on it's own. Could this also be symptoms of a bad TPS? Thanks Auron for the pic.
