Default I need some more help

this weekend i plan on dropping my oil pan and doing a visual inspection of my #1 cylinder because i have isolated that as the bad one here are the 2 possabilities
#1 cracked piston like what happened to chis0908 https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...tapping-2.html

#2 a spun rod bearing so i ask when i take the oil pan off will i be able to take the crank out with out taking the engine out

if there is scored cylinder walls what can i do on my own with out spending a huge amount of money

Yes, you can take the crank out without removing the engine... just don't let it fall on you!!! It weighs A LOT.

The only thing you can do about a scoured cylinder wall is bore the engine out until the scouring is gone.... which means bore out every cylinder. Thats something I would suggest letting a machine shop do.
