Smog Crap Removal?

I don’t have any around town mileage to speak of I live about 4 blocks from the highway that I take to work and once I get to that town its only two blocks off the highway. I would be surprised if I had 10 miles of in town driving to a tank the rest of the 100mile a day trip is highway. The truck doesn't see any weekend use because I can't fit the two kids and the misses in it. So if I’m getting "X" to a tank I’m going to call it a fairly reliable measure of gas mileage. granted most other members probable spend more time in town or don’t see the daily miles that I do so for me chasing down that half to full MPG is worth it as long as it’s not costing me more then I’m willing to spend i.e. not going to slap some turbos and swap rear end gears to grab a few mpg's. But ditching the air pump and the belted fan for some electric ones and a decent tune up are well within the bounds of reality. My two cents.
