will a v6 flywheel be ok on a 360 v8 they bolt same but im concernd about balance issues at crank

No, the 360 needs a balanced flywheel, the 3.9 has a neutral flywheel.

ok do u thnk that the bell housing off of the 1980 4spd trans will bolt up to my 5spd??? if not what would u suggest i do??

the v6 flywheel has 9 breaks while the v8 flywheel has only 8.

i learned that lesson the hard way. lol

it would need to be a balanced v8 flywheel and an nv3500 or other v8 manual tranny.

95 and i both swapped our auto trans out for manual ones.

You can find balanced flywheels. Check NAPA... I know they sell them.

And if you put an nv3500 behind a 360, dont rag on it too much. It may last longer in a lighter Dakota than a Ram, but the 360 is still out of the torque handling range of the nv3500.

hmm, what would be a good manual trans for a 360 other than the 4500?

i was actually thinking of swapping in a built 360 for occasional ricer burning...lol

The t56 6 speed (the viper transmission) would be the best one!!!! It will bolt up and fit. It would only be 2wd though, obviously.

ya that would b a nice trans but im on a budg. n tryn to keep it 4whl. and i got the knowledge and what not but not sure what trucks the 4500 came in and what not any further info is apriciated
