mine has the cali emitions but no smog pump ... strange

 

Smog pumps were only on pre 91 maybe even older models only. And they were on all not just California.

The California Emissions is just a software programed into the computer. You will loose a few HP due to it. But your emissions will be down compared to others.

 

got mine too but whats with the recall thing? Is that worth looking into?

Ya it is worth looking into. Print up the the build sheet. Take it and your truck to your local dealer and ask if they can do the repair. They will probably blow you off and say it is to old ect. Ask to see the details of the recall and deadline printed on paper.
Some recall repairs have a deadline. Some don't.

How do I contact Chrysler for a build sheet? I have a 1991 I just purchased. How far back can I request a sheet? I would like to have one for my 1956 truck as well.

Where can I request a build sheet for my truck? Go Here Write Build sheet request. Write in your last 8 digits of your VIN number.

I doubt they will be able to go back to 1956 but ask.

It is now in the FAQ.
