That sucks! Check local junkyards or www.craigslist.org for used ones if needed.

you could try and rebuild it. and the pan getting stuck was because the dipstick was in. i had that same problem when i did mine...you could always just swap to a manual like 95_318slt and i did.

you could also get a 2wd transmission and swap the tail housing. a friend of mine did that on his dakota he just bought
