Default New open air filter

So, I installed a 10" air filter today. Cost me $21. 14" would be better, but I figure I'm not really losing anything and I'm cheap so whatever.

I do have a minor issue with it I was hoping to resolve. There was a small hose conneected to the stock air hat from the throttle body. I was wondering If I should cap it off. On my plastic type stock air hat there is actually a valve that opens and closes allowing air to flow into the exhaust manifold. I assume the hose had something to do with this?

Is this apart of the emissions?

on the air hat there is a small valve with 2 hoses, on connected to the TB (the one I am asking about) the other connects to a valve in the intake hose (before the air hat) that allows air to flow to the opening in the exhuast manifold. The manifold is now open. My question is, should I simply remove the hose from the TB and cap it off? There's not much else I can really do seing as the hose goes nowhere on the aftermarket air filter.

It's to help with warm up. The valve opens in the stock air filter assembly to pull hot air off of the exhaust manifolds.

Did you replace the entire plastic air filter assembly, or just a new air filter?
