I'd imagine that unless you got a shorter belt it would have to go on the AC. otherwise there would be too much slack and it wouldn't stay on the truck! lol

Grab ur tools and get started man, nothin else goin on tonight, lol :P

Honestly though, Looking at it this is something I personally would take on and I'm not super mechanically inclined. I've done some shocks and a fuel pump and a few other things. I don't think this is too hard. Your mileage may vary of course.

I agree you should dig in there and do it yourself. There really isn't anything that you are going to mess up, its not like this process will knock your truck out of time or blow any relays or anything like that, its all pretty basic mechanics that is almost idiot proof. Just go at it with the previously posted service manual instructions and a couple basic tools, you'll get it in a few hours, max.

Whenever I need to do something on my truck that I haven't done before, I go on Youtube and watch someone else explain it to me. Even if the video is on a different truck, it can still orient you to what you will likely find in there. Like this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4lldl5HWhs

There are tons others.

Good luck! Let us know if you run into any snags.

Good video for a quick and dirty run down on how to do it. I suspect he pulled out the air ratchet for the speed factor of it.

It's not a bad job. Hardest thing you'll run into is getting the fan off and changing the bypass hose.

Turns out there was just a small hose (which the previous owners had replaced and is brand new) that had been too big for what it was connecting, which needed to be cinched down super tight causing the hose to have a kink in it. This in turn just caused wear and tear on the hose making it break and having a small crack in it. That small crack turned out to allow a LOT of my radiator coolant flow out of it. So everything that happened was just a coincidence

Yea... Cost 4 dollars for the part and my friends who fixed it charged me $110 for labor >.< Though I expected that seeing as it was behind the fanblade assembly xD

Sounds like the bypass hose, you have to remove the water pump to get to it. Should've attempted it yourself. I just replaced my water-pump for the first time earlier this summer. It really wasn't hard, just took a few hours.
