When you turn the key to the on position, can you here the fuel pump cycle?

ok update
narrowed it down to fuel pump relay fuel filter or the fuel pump its self.

Unscrew the filler cap, listen (most open route to hear the pump priming) and have helper turn the key to "On", if no noise then your pump is failing or has failed. Fuel pump relay can be swapped with another relay to confirm (ie a/c relay or another one you do not need to start). Fuel filter is a given after 15k miles (yes, I know that people do not change them, but every 150k miles or so). Another pressure check is to "crack" the banko and turn key to on (WILL SPILL FUEL), or route the end of the fuel line to a glass container.

you could try switching the fuel pump and starter relays. i did this last night on my truck because i'm having a starting issue. after that i had a week fuel pump but my starter cranked.
