I have a 93 Dakota 318 v-8 4x4 with 168,000 miles and I wen to walmart the other day and I had a brake. When I came back out I put foot on brake and it went right to floor, abs and brake light came on.... Took i to my dads to add fluid thinking maybe thats what it was but when i turned it off and back on I had a full brake petal but lights were still on.. Took it to a shop and they said the master cylinder went out and I have been riding on front brakes for acouple months.. So they looked more into why I didnt have back brakes and they said it was the proportioning valve they replaced... Question I have my father-in law thinks there is a crack in the brake line cause in the 20 years he has been wrenching he has never replaced a proportioning valve????? Any Ideas????????

My ABS and parking brake lights are on, and I don't have the ABS relay in mine either. Seems like too much of a coincidence to be the cause of the problem.
