v6 to v8 torsin bar help

Default v6 to v8 torsin bar help

im sorry 4 all the questions guys but i don't have the money or the tools to do alot of stuff to lift my dakota but can any 1 tell me if changing the v6 bars to the v8 bars work and if they had to do any modifications too thanks

Yes the swap will work and will be a simple swap. Lift keys will give the same results.

which ones do i get the 4x4 dodge 1500 or the 2wd dodge 1500 torsion bars

The Rams don't have torsion bars, 4wd or 2wd. 92-96 Dakota 4wd V8 torsion bars will work (2wd doesn't have torsion bars). Try the Junkyard. www.ebay.com has good prices on lift keys. $60 or so.

i would get the lift keys but i have a 89 dakota 4x4 and the lift keys i found was for 91 to 96 dakotas would they still fit

I believe they still work. Double check this site, he installed the full suspension kit on a 89 when it is for 91-96. Also the V8 torsion bars would be 91-96.

If you get v8 torsion bars you can get about 2" lift but it will also ride harder as the v8 torsion bars have a higher spring rate. I have heavy duty v8 torsion bars on my 94 v6 with 2" blocks in the rear and my truck sits level even with a winch on front.
