87 Dakota TopEnd Rebuild.. YAY :/
I got bored so i went and tore the engine back down to the block.. Found some old gasket that i thought that i removed and im gonna go get a second opinion on the heads the first wss that they didnt need anything to be done to them.. well since the first opinion got me leakin water ima see whats up with a diff shops opinion. So i went out and got a gasket scraper and a buffer. i got that engine sparklin like new now so we'll see what happens..
Buy a used block and refresh it with bearings, rings, oil pump and timing chain, or throw caution and use as is. I have a high opinion of Chrysler blocks, but the heads are concerning with how they are setup. I would recommend buying a shortblock with a known history or a recycled block with a warranty.
thing is that was jus a suspision... ITS NOT CRACKED!!! I just got done cleaning the block so ill have it runnin soon i hope.. still tho im gonna have to get new pushrods and rockers and valves jus cuz the rest of the engine looks so clean right now and plus the rockers dont seat down on the pushrods verytight and i dont wanna hear any tickin. and the carb was hiccuping gas so i think itd be best to jus replace those listed parts just incase.
