Default Temperature "sensor" wiring

New thread to simplify searching:

I am wanting to wire a electric fan (non-stock) to turn on from the stock "sensor". I noted in the FSM that one point grounds and the other point goes to the computer, but it does not say (or rather I cannot decipher) if it is a resistance type sensor or not. I assume that I can wire the sensor to the relay, and chassis ground the opposing wire. Is this correct?

You can buy a sensor relay kit to make them turn on and off. Some are adjustable. Autozone has them also www.summitracing.com
