Default Normal or bad oil pressure sending unit?

I made a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wC3ZS4njqL0

Watch 1:05 to end, or the whole thing.

Is this normal? On my Ranger the oil pressure is always in the middle.

Looks normal. The needle may move, but should peak at 2,000 rpm. Your pressure shows a little low initially. I am confident that your oil fluid is full. Not knowing your engines history, I would suspect pump failure or rather a worn out pump if it idles with low pressure. Most replace the sensor as they are known to be faulty after a gagillion miles (actually, I believe it is normal for the sensor swap, but most think their parts should last for the lifetime of the chassis and typical maintenance does not apply to them).

Looks normal, but the sensor is cheap and are prone to bad readings as Siggie30 previously stated. I would change out the sensor first before condemning the oil pump. Also, check level and what weight of oil are you using?

I'm not sure what oil is in it, just know that it's most likely mobil. I just got the truck two days ago.

Mine was doing the same and one day the pressure gauge dropped to ZERO. A new pressure sending unit was the answer. The faulty sending unit was also the source of a small oil leak on my old girl. Definitely try the simple/less expensive fix first.

I'm not going to mess with it. I believe it's normal. Somebody told me that Dodge vehicles don't really have much oil pressure. The gauge never goes below that second line so it's all good I think.

That's not normal for my truck. Mine is always above half way, and more like 2/3. I say replace your sensor....
