Ok, I have a 1995 dodge dakota ext. cab. 2wd 3.9l v6 automatic. Recently I noticed the torque converter hasnt been locking up at 40mph as it used to. Was gonna change out the solenoid but havent had the time. Today driving home from work the speedo started fluttering and then dropped to 0. at the same time the tranny dropped out of overdrive. Shortly after it quit the check engine light came on. (havent checked code yet. dont have my scanner right now) the rest of the way home it would not shift into overdrive. when the speedo started working again it would shift. So that said i have to assume that my speed sensor is going bad. Is the speed sensor on the rear axle housing top front center or on the tailshaft of the tranny? Any help is appriciated

I'm not sure about the 95, but on my 93, it's on the tailshaft of the tranny. Very easy to change! Just kind of an expensive sensor
