2wd has coils and 4wd has torsion bars that are the main suspension types. Which is different ways to lift it.

Yes you could do a Spring Over Axle (SOA) swap but that is going to give you 6in or more of lift of the rear. While the front only gets 1-2. Your back end will end up being way to tall and will not look good, with the front of the truck pointing down and the back way in the air.

Add A Leafs (AAL) kits are cheep and will give you 2-3in of lift which will work with the 2in or so the front gets.

yea i know but im not driving my dakota at the moment,it only stands in the garage so im gonna start by doing the rear, then maybe i can but some spacers on the coils in front, and maybe change to v8 stuff, and search for longer spring so it will even out by time

its not really easy to do the rear either, just to remove the leafs is a ****ty job, then to remove the holders and then weld them on again *sigh*

The MAX you can lift the front will be around 2in. There is only so much you can do before you need a longer knuckle which no one makes. So front MAX no matter what combo you use is going to be 2-3. I doubt you can get 3in.

Doing a SOA swap will give you too much that the front can not be matched. 6-7in and from factory the rear is taller than the front.

If your dead set on the SOA then it is easy you have to make sure you get the pinion angle correct. Buy new spring perches they are cheep. Any universal 3in tube will work $10 each. You will need new U-bolts and a mounting plate. 4wd has it if you can pull it from the junkyard. You don't have to cut off your old perches.

LOL 8in and you want it easy and cheep. If your looking for 8in your going to need 100% custom everything, like cutting and tons of welding new brackets ect. Nothing in a kit. Tons of money and time!

The best you can do is the 2in up front plus the 2in body = 4in total for the front. Rear AAL 2in + 2in body lift = 4in for the rear. 4in lift for under $200, that is a darn good deal.

This is after i put 265 70 17 on it they clear in the back but in the front they are scrubbing. Was running out of time at tire shop being that it was late in day had him put the old ones back on front for now my ? Is i have 1 to 1 1/2 inch coil spacers and i order rancho front shocks with 0 -1 inch of lift will i be able to clear the 265 with this set up? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Haven't installed spacers yet was thinking running two on each side at 1 inch and also the spacer I have are for in the coil itself not for above or below will this still work? Sorry new to the lift world -alabama
