wuuusaaaa! lol. ok now thats what im talkin bout! geuss ill go with a 360 then. cant freakin wait man! in that artical it said that 3.9 ran a 17 in the quarter, so i think its fair to give my 318 15 seconds. and maybe the 360 14 seconds, tops. headers, heads, cam and throttle body and cumstang boys goin down! cant wait to see the look on his face lol. i think i'll have to stretch my budget another thousand tho, which shouldn't be a problem cuz i just remembered you get more back in taxes with more kids, and now my second is due in december!! so thank you guys, especially you 4x4 rt. ya salty tart!!! lol, jk jk jk. im gunna start tearin it all apart and make way for the 360 with the help of some coors light for tonight. anybody wanna buy a 318 lol!?!?!?

 

What I would personally do is have the engine rebuilt, 5.9, and stroked with quality parts, spend a chunk of change on getting the heads worked over (there is where 75% of your power will be freed), get some headers, good exhaust, put a MP carb intake and a big cam, lower your gear ration and drop a good streatable locker on it (light pickups have serious traction problems) and find a decent set of used sticky tires. If you can put all that power to the ground and hook up good, you will win.

All we can't help with is the quality of driver :-)

Also, you might want to do some work to the tranny as it might not last to long racing.

 

it would probably help if youd get rid of unnecessary weight. addin the 5.9 will add more weight to your truck. so if you got a tool box and little stuff like that take it of when you go to these meets or whenever you decide to race the rustangs. cutting down a little weight probably wont give ya a whole lot of difference but could help a little
