I own a 96 2wd, 4 cyl, 5spd man. I have two different connectors that split off from the group of wires that run around the firewall in the back left corner of the engine bay. The gray squarish one comes out on the left side of the evap canister and the black oval one comes out on the right side of the evap canister. I've looked all over the engine and cant seem to find were they go. Anyone got any clue as to were they go or or are they just extra?

 

The first connector is the PCM diagnostic port. It stays unplugged. The 2nd is to hard to tell what it is. Just look around for anything in its length that it can plug into. In the first pic you don't have the blower resister connected the pack of terminals that is on the firewall.

 

Yea I pulled the blower wires for better visibility. The second one comes off the same group of wires but on the right side of the evap cylinder. I cant find any where for it to plug into.

 

What are the wire colors going to the 2nd (oval) connector? How many pins are on the connector?

FYI, that isn't the EVAP canister, that is the A/C accumulator. (The EVAP canister is in front of the passenger side wheel "hump")

Ok, my bad. I was mistaken. not only about the name of the part, but wich set a wires it branches from. It branches out from the lower thick set of wires. The wire connecter is a 4 pin and the colors are green w/ red stripe, blue w/ red stripe, tan w/ red strip, and black.

 

It is the Vehicle speed control servo C139. I had to look it up in the service manual which we have in the FAQ. It looks dirty enough like it hasn't been connected for a while. So if you don't have cruise control then it is okay to leave it unplugged.

 

Hmm that's good to know. Thank you. So then how easy would it be to add on cruise control to my truck?

 

I have a copy of the service manual, I just cant read a wiring diagram to save my life.
