I too am very interested in this. I just put coil overs on the rear of my truck and planned to get these keys for the front to run 33"s. I don't wanna be doing damage, I could just use the clearance for snow season. I do home snow removal and need to drive down unplowed roads. I'm sure it would see some offroad too.

I don't know how much you guys were cranking, but I bet I had mine more than you guys with no problems besides dry boots. Here is a quick pic.

Before his SAS.
That definitly looks like you have some crazy angles on the CV joints. Hmmm.... Strange. I will have to jack mine up and tighten the keys until I get the binding again

Ya it was before my SAS, back when it was stock style suspension. Maybe a year ago. I had the indexed keys for 2-3in or so, Ram 2500 rear leaf springs for 2-3in and 2in body lift.

When you crank it up it is fine to lift up the truck to get the suspension unloaded. But when you take a look at how the CV's look drop it to ride height. If you want to spin the tire then lift it up by the control arms where the load is on the suspension.

Makes sense. The tires will not be spinning at the angle you will be at when the truck is lifted by the frame.

If you lift the tires off the ground by the frame the tires will drop like 4-6" or so. if its not binding then.... the torsion keys should not make a difference, right?

Trust me, you will know if the front is binding when you're driving.

To all the people worried about reindexed keys, they will work fine. You can still get a few inches of lift out of them without causing any problems. Just don't go too high. When you start to crush the bump stops ride quality sucks and the cv's can start binding...

How much will a reindexed key lift the front end if you maxed it out and crushed everything by moving it too far?

And so, for us now scared to try them, is the consensus that you can get a 2" safely?

For me I didn't mark where stock was so I can't exactly say how much it lifted but I would say 2-3in and that was safe.

Every truck is different, just like everyone view on how that CV angle should be.

I am sorry for scaring anyone away from buying the keys. That is not what I meant to do. I did still get some what of a lift out of them. And they are pretty cheap and super easy to install. I might be able to take a look at them this weekend. I will have to check my bump stops etc. For all I know it could be something completely different that caused my boot to rip open.
Crazy is right, every truck is different. Where as my truck I have noticed, already sits a bit higher than most Dakotas that I see around. And my stock tires are the 31"
