94 5.2l 5spd bad mpg's!!!!!

you have to hunt right now to find fuel for 3.45 a gal. only like two stations in a 50 mile radius

So i changed the O2 sensor and it seems to have more umph feels like Im actually driving a V8. The old one was pretty sooted up so we'll see mileage report to come. Taking it on a 300 mile round trip on thurday.

i get 13city and about 15hwy and on a good day 16hwy, please let me know if you find a way to get 17, would love to know how. Here in Columbus, ohio the gas has been a wide range of 3.09 a gallon to 3.35. just filled the truck up for $43 at 3.19 a gallon but i had put $20 or so a couple of days before

got one from the parts store I work at which is a parts plus distributor. It's a denso and it cost me roughly $30.

Well the report on the trip is avg 16.6 that was doing 75mph for 80 miles or so and then driving around on traffic and in town i guess thats not too bad. The po installed a condensator and it claims mileage i plan on unhooking it running the oe pcv system for at least one tank to see if there is really any change

you guys talking bad gas mileage try this i put 74 dollars in my 94 dakota and managed a measly 148 kms on close to a full tank not a good return works out to just over 2kms to the litre pretty sure MPG works out worse. i have put all new ignition components in and also replaced the torque contverter and oil pump and input seal in transmission and the only way i got the mileage was making the auto transmission shift when i shifted it and using OD when over 60kmh

i just did the math and it works out to about 4.7mpg

That's just god awful.
Just a few things you might want to look into: new plugs and wires, o2 sensor, tire pressure, clean throttle body, new injectors, change oil. There are tons of other things, I'm sure, but those are the first things that came to mind.

i have change plug wires and cam sensor and also transmission filter engine oil and filter and that is i have put in new plugs new wires cap and rotor and cam position sensor a new torque converter and transmission oil pump and clean throttle body and did leak down tests for fuel pressure and nothing in wrong other thena consistent annoying pop in the exhaust the engine at an idle just purrs and every so often loud pop out exhaust and the exhaust is 2.5 inch pipe no cat to muffler and out that is it and all brand new
