There is a bolt that goes right threw the wiring connector into the PCM. I believe it is somewhere around the 8-10 mm size?
Just unscrew it and the wiring disconnects. Mount new box on and bolt it back in
Not sure if it matters but I would probably disconnect the battery first...

Where is the PCM and ECU located? Im having a problem with my truck stalling(shuts off like a flipped a switch) wondering if a bad ECU or PCM could cause this? its almost got 190k on the engine so i could see if it started to act up, but nothing else seems to be acting wrong. Ill disconnect the neg battery cable to see what happens. I just replaced the Ignition coil and it stopped the stalling for a couple of days but today it stalled again. The mechanic i took it to couldnt find what was wrong with it a basically told me to replace parts to see if it will fix the problem.

The PCM is under the hood on the passengers fender.

Yes it could be a bad PCM along with thousands other possibilities. Check your splices.

if it shuts off on a regular basis at a regular time it's probably computer related. if it shuts down at different times it is probably a wire problem.

i checked the splices but i can easily do it again. It dosnt shut off a certain time but in the past week its stalled twice, so i would guess its a wire problem. ill have to check the splices again tomorrow, ill have to do a more thorough look threw. if it is a wire problem how will i know what guage wire to use to fix it up?

could a corroded or bad battery connector cause that sudden shut off? The truck starts back up after it has a few minutes to rest.

Yes it could. Did you clean yours up and tighten it down?
