To the on position not start to the off position as if you were going to take the key out of the ignition switch. After the 3rd on time leave it in the on position and just wait the check engine light will blink then pause for each code it finds. Count the blinks and write down the number. Example blink, blink, blink (3)pause blink, blink pause,(2) code 32 all codes are 2 didget so you may get a series of codes ( 32, 21,15 99)

on/off on/off on

First look at the connector and wires, verify they look good, next replace the sensor.

The parts stores will have it listed as a pickup coil.

Default Code 54

The crank shaft position sensor is located on the bellhousing of the transmision . I have a stick shift so on mine it's located on the passenger side just where the block is bolted to the transmision. There are only 2 bolts holding it in. I'm not shure if it's the same on a automatic transmision. Some times you may have to remove the EGR valve to get at it. If that is that's the case make shure you get another gaskit for that.

Sorry you said cam shaft not crank shaft. The cam shaft position sensor is the one in the distributer cap. Very easy to replace. Take off distributer cap, lift out sensor and unpulg from harness, put in new sensor making shure it seated correctly , there is a small tab the fits in the indent on the distributer, replace cap, reconnect to wire harness. That's it.
